RallyBrick!
RallyBrick
is a Volvo 242 rally car that competes in the California Rally Series
(CRS) Group 5 class. Group 5 is a an open 2 wheel drive class that
allows a significant number of modifications to the car's suspension,
driveline, and other areas.
While
rally is the most popular motorsport in the rest of the world, it
is still relatively small but gaining popularity in the US. Rally
"special stages" are run on closed courses against the
clock and the forces of nature. The cars must be street legal because
they use regular roads to transit at legal speeds between the special
stages. A navigator calls out instructions to the driver about upcoming
turns, jumps, and dangers. The emphasis in rally is on surviving
-- it's not uncommon for a race to last over a hundred miles in
one day, with many races being multiple day events.
RallyBrick
ran an abridged season in 2006. The 2007 will see the team running
all NASA RallySport-sanctioned events in the Southwest.

We'll be
updating RallyBrick more this season. Last season was tough
because we were busy trying to get the car to the events and
all the bugs "shook" out.

Prepping
RallyBrick for Gorman 2006. Obviously Mike didn't do enough work
under there since we still broke on SS 6!
